I am a licensed psychologist in the San Francisco Bay Area with over thirty years experience in psychology. I have two Master’s degrees in Counseling Psychology and Speech Pathology and a Ph.D in Clinical Psychology/Clinical Health Psychology. I am one of the first psychologists to specialize in clinical health psychology and have dedicated my career toward the advancement of this field.
Throughout my career, I have worked to educate medical practitioners on how they might better serve their patients’ mental health needs. I strive to help patients manage chronic and terminal diseases, addictions, and psychological disorders. I have developed improved mental-health care practices for UC Davis Medical Center, the New York University School of Medicine, and my own private practice, the Clark Center for Family Development. I have an excellent record of providing mental health care for challenging patients and families, and I have received acknowledgment for superior psychological training in hospital medical wards.
In my own practice, my medical and psychological experience has deepened my ability to help my clients. I have experience helping people with chronic disease, depression and anxiety, eating disorders, addiction, and developmental problems on both a medical and a psychological level. My background deepens my awareness of the difficulty of dealing with a chronic illness, which has improved the effectiveness of my psychotherapeutic approach.
